Unrefined coconut oil has a number of other “fatty acids” in its matrix, that may contribute to triglyceride fat storage in the body. We have isolated the C:8 and C:10, medium chained fatty acids, to support ‘energy production’ through the ability of medium chain fatty acids ability to be converted to ketones - which can support energy needs of the body. Medium chain fatty acids - converted to ketones - are not stored as triglyceride fat in the body.
Excess ketones are excreted via breath and urine. Lastly, if you are following the Bulletproof Diet, you will see that in a low carbohydrate approach to eating, quality fat intake needs to go up to support energy production. It is important to use quality fats that are easily converted to energy, such as what is found in XCT oil.
