At the end of your training you will be required to record a coaching session which will form part of your formal assessment. (ICF Track has 4 interim recordings and 1, final recording that is assessed for Certification.)
Here are some instructions and suggestions for you:
- Audio should be in mp3, m4a audio, AAC or wav formats only. No video files please! A free audio recorder & editor can be found on http://www.audacityteam.org/. This can also be used to convert files to the above formats.
- Recordings must be in English and be of appropriate sound quality.
- The session format we expect to hear is the one we will teach you throughout the Skills Calls. It is laid out in the Coaching Crib Sheet and we will as well make available a document in Extra Resources outlining precisely what we will listen for. Please stick to these areas for the assessment. We suggest you organize a special recording session to cover this rather than send us a regular client session. We suggest this because often client sessions can contain material we are either not listening for or marking, such as follow-up from a previous session. The ‘client’ for the recorded session can be anyone: family (no partners, please), colleague, friend, coaching buddy etc.
- The recording is to last for a maximum of 30 minutes. There is no minimum time however you must ensure you cover a complete session as outlined in the Crib Sheet to manage a passing grade.
You will be given clear and specific instructions for uploading these and all other assessment documents in the final week of your training. Please do not send any assessment or completion material to us directly by email or prior to that final week.
If you do not pass the first time, you will be asked to resubmit another 30-minute recording taking into account the feedback you received. You will be allowed one such resubmission at no charge. Following two attempts, any further resubmissions will be charged a $250 resubmission fee.
